Hello Patrick!
I just finished reading your book with Damian Platt. Very, very cool! I am very impressed how foreigners can understand our problems, as you did. Congratulations, it's wonderful to see your point of view of our city. I'm finishing a project about Brazil and Rio that maybe you will like to see. You still have any contact with Damian Platt? My project will be ready in July, I would like to speak with you two about it. I might show YouTube videos about the analysis made for you.
Thank you
Patrick replies:
Thanks Caca - yes, still in touch with Damian ... I'll mail you ...

Ran across "City of Tiny Lights" by chance and I keep finding things that delight--the characters, the word choice and construction, the wit, the ... well, everything. [And the cover art on the paperback edition in the US is terrific--not sure if it's the same as in the UK.] I'm torn between savoring and devouring it. I look forward to reading your other books, and thanks for posting some stories on the website, too. Please keep it coming,
Patrick replies:
Hello Jim Thanks for taking the time - the appreciation is much appreciated! Patrick

Dear Patrick
just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Book Slam last night - you are a natural compere! And the reading wasn't bad either - managed to get both my books dedicated to me with a very enigmatic message from your mate Josh (J) Ferris...
as a South London writer (Year of the Dog) West London is quite a schlep but I was glad to be in the Tabernacle again - last time I was there I was playing a bush in the Royal Court Youth Theatre...how much higher my star has ascended since those twiggy days. Anyway I'm rambling now - thanks for putting on a great night & I shall try and swing by Waterstones after your shameless bit of self-promotion!! (Last time I did a talk in the Greenwich branch the man in the front row snored so loud the other 7 people couldn't hear anything. But that's another story)
thanks again
Claire

Hi Patrick
Just reading 'Jerusalem' atm. First of your book I've read and must say that it is great.
"suggest she retires to the drawing room and readies her sheet music for a short recital"
Gold. I cannot wait to use this with some of my particularly more ardent feminist friends.
Patrick replies:
Hello Tom
Thanks for getting in touch. Hope you enjoyed the rest and your friends pleased you upon the piano forte ...
take care Patrick

Thank you so much for replying to my message Patrick (I wasn't sure you would - I am most pleased!) I have purchased Babel from National Theatre bookstore. I first heard of your work from an article in the Metro about your collaboration with Stan Won't Dance and hoping to see this at the Place. Thanks Again.....Emily

Hi Patrick,
I'm currently planning a physical theatre piece for my Sixth Form students and have been inspired by your text Babel (seen on youtube)and wondered if I can get hold of a hard copy to use as a stimulus for my class? Is it published? and if so can you let me know where I can find it?
Kind regards
Emily
Patrick replies:
Hello Emily Unfortunately, you didn't leave an e-mail address, so I can't write directly. Hopefully you'll read this. In fact, Babel has recently been developed into a physical theatre piece by Stan Won't Dance. You should see it if you can. It's on tour right now and is pretty amazing. I reworked the original piece of writing for them and that's been published by Oberon. It's not exactly the same as the text on the Channel 4 video, but it does include all that material. Hope that helps! Patrick

Having just read your short story Twelve Drummers I wanted to write and say thank you for one of the tenderest stories I have read in a very long time.
Patrick replies:
Hey David
Just wanted to say thanks. I'm really glad you like that story. I confess I'm particularly proud of it, so it's nice it's appreciated!
